The world’s most popular cryptocurrency continued to gain on Sunday.
Bitcoin rises to a fresh high and extending a two-month rally that took its market capitalisation to more than $1 trillion on Friday.
Bitcoin rose to a record $58,354, taking its weekly gain to around 20% and it has surged around 100% this year.
At this point, bitcoin was up more than 90% in 2021, having opened the year at roughly $28,900, CoinDesk figures show.
Bitcoin’s gains have been fueled by its gaining acceptance among mainstream companies and investors such as Mastercard Inc, Tesla and BNY Mellon.
